Artist Statement
The themes and issues I bring forward in my work revolve around sexuality,
gender, race, and religion. These topics are used in the process of self discovery and
expression. It is how I process the world. When I create I am finding the story and meaning
behind the creation, usually starting the making process before knowing the true meaning.
The art I create centers a journey of finding knowledge of my surroundings with myself and its meaning.
Recently working with non traditional materials using found paper and cardboard for my
paintings doing a search within not only the story but the material as well. Making more sculptural objects creating bigger and bolder pieces of artwork.
